Its difficult to believe the news. Its difficult to imagine that life can be so cruel and unpredictable. We are still hoping that it turns out to be a really sad joke. But it seems to be true. Manish Acharya, the writer-director-actor of surprise hit Loins Of Punjab Presents passed away today morning. We don’t have the exact details yet but it seems that he fell off while horse riding in Matheran.
Manish was a graduate from NYU’s Tisch School of Arts and also played the role of a shadow puppet (narrator) in Nina Paley’s delicious film Sita Sings the Blues. RIP Manish Acharya.
And dear 2010, can you now fuck off soon! Sourabh Ushan Narang, Pankaj Advani and now Manish Acharya. Its impossible to make sense of this world.
This can’t be fucking true.. What’s wrong with this fucking world, taking away brilliant people on the verge of what they have been dreaming off…each one of them when they got their or was getting their next together..
when your time over you cant do a s*** about it, and the best part is you dont know when its going to be over- may be the next 5 seconds
I’m sad, really sad. Just yesterday I was watching Loins of Punjab -such a hilarious film- and today this news comes. RIP Manish.
Sad indeed. Had loved his Loins of Punjab tremendously. In fact, I remeber very clearly that it realeased in Bangy in the same weekend as that of Jhonny Gaddar and after having seen both the movies alone initially, I took a whole bunch of my riends in the second viewing of both and each one of them loved those movies. Would have gone for his second movie, without even watching the trailers. But as a great man once said – Life is what happens when you are busy planning.
BTW, I am curious to know about his contribution in Luck by Chance. I see many tweets crediting him for the same. Had loved LBC tremendously too.
