The first trailer of Vishal Bhardwaj’s new film Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola is out. The film stars Imran Khan, Anushka Sharma, Pankaj Kapoor and Shabana Azmi.
Now, this looks like Entertainment, Entertianment, Entertainment. (Ok, blame that overdose on Vidya Balan) It surely looks like great fun – mad characters, rustic setting, colourful elements and dhinchak music.
But what is it about? It says almost nothing.
If it’s a Vishal Bhardwaj, it just can’t be boy-meets-girl, right? Some of us have read the script and the same two words comes to mind again – great fun. Only issue is the hotchpotch climax.
We can also tell you that there is a serious political issue in it but the trailer has masked it completely. Because they want your bums on the seats in the first weekend itself.
So see the trailer again. And see if can you connect the dots and guess the basic plot.

For me the trailer was Pankaj Kapur! Pankaj Kapur ! Pankaj Kapur ! Also it looks as the most commercial film to come out of Vishal bhardwaj’s stable. At the risk of being a loudmouth i must say it looks like a yashraj script dipped in Vishal’s treatment . Pretty excited for this one

only bong’s know the depth of scripts ,no one only sir jhooka hai master knows baki sab chu hai .gyani kuch karnama aap bhi kere ,prawachan ke alawa.pichwada uthaye aur dikhaye aap khalid nahi hai..mahaan hai. vishal toh u can’t bcome not even can commnt on his art. Janab Boka banaye aur khud boka ch certified ker dikhaye.

Gulzar sahab’s Non YRF-ised lyrics, woooofer phaaaadu music, superb Pankaj kapoor, some ‘guest’ appearances and well of course, shabana azmi! Ab baaki ki picture mein if they show the process of extracting minerals using manual techniques, I would still go and see it. Simpaaaal!

Matru ki bijli ka mandola .. Imraans anushka and anushkas pankaj kapur ..pankaj kappor must be a father figure to anushka .. So wen imraan and anushka plans to marry .. She introduce imraan 2 pankaj . Pankaj is involved in some political party whose symbol os gulabi bhains .. Either shabana is of same party or some rival party .. And they are playing some political game .. And pankaj asks for imraan help in that political game
