The National Film Development Corporation has announced the Call for Entries for the 12th Year of Film Bazaar Co-Production Market.

Full length fiction feature projects with South Asian themes are invited to apply.

The Deadline for submissions is September 13th, 2018. Extended Deadline is September 18th 2018. The deadline has been extended to September 30th 2018.

The Market will be held between 20-24th November, 2018 at Film Bazaar, Goa.

The Co-Production Market presents a list of curated projects to the national and international film professionals attending Film Bazaar. The Market kicks off with Open Pitch where participants present their projects through Video Pitches to an audience of investors, producers and financiers. The four days of the market are earmarked for one on one meetings specially scheduled for each project.

Over the years, the dedicated team has honed its skills for matching projects with the right delegates. Dedicated online and print catalogues consisting of all project details are available for Film Bazaar attendees interested in Co Production Market projects. NFDC Film Bazaar 2018 is calling for entries for the Viewing Room and the Work-in-Progress (WIP) Lab.

– Film Bazaar will be held from November 20-24, 2018 at the Goa Marriott Resort.

– The Early Bird Deadline for submissions is August 31, 2018, which will offer a discount on the submission fees. The last date for submission of completed applications is September 14th 2018.

WIP Lab

– Submissions are invited for the WIP Fiction lab.

– Up to five projects in their rough-cut stage will be selected to be presented to a panel of international film experts for their feedback.

– Feature-length fiction films of any genre in the rough-cut stage are invited to apply to the WIP lab.

Viewing Room

The Viewing Room will present films seeking finishing funds, world sales, distribution partners and film festivals to investors, world sales agents and film festival programmers attending the film bazaar. Here, films are viewed on individual computer terminals in private booths via a specially designed software which allows the users to contact the director or producer of the film via email.

– Films (fiction/documentary) of all genres and lengths in rough or final cut are invited to apply to the Viewing Room.

– Feature length films in the rough cut are eligible to apply to both WIP lab and Viewing Room.

– Short films can also be submitted to the Viewing Room, which will be showcased in a category called Short Films.

NFDC Screenwriter's LabNFDC Film Bazaar 2016 is calling for entries for Industry Screenings.

  • The regular deadline for submissions is October 15, 2016.
  • This year, the Film Bazaar will be held from November 20-24 at the Goa Marriott Resort alongside the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2016.

WHAT : NFDC Film Bazaar 2015 is calling for entries for the third edition of Producer’s Lab, a training platform introduced in 2013 to help emerging producers cultivate a sense of vision and learn the art of balancing the creative and financial aspects of filmmaking.

WHEN/WHERE : This year, the NFDC Film Bazaar will be held from November 20-24, 2015 at the Goa Marriott Resort alongside the International Film Festival of India 2015.

DEADLINE : The deadline for submission of application is 30th September 2015.

LAB : Multiple sessions on the different facets of producing films are conducted by key industry experts and professionals at the lab which is aimed at providing training and networking opportunities to upcoming Independent Producers from across the world.

FEES : The application fee for the Producers’ Lab is INR 25,000 (Rupees Fifty Thousand). Only applicants who have been shortlisted to participate at the Lab will need to pay the fees (which excludes cost of travel and accommodation, but includes the registration fees for Film Bazaar). NFDC will intimate the shortlisted applicants via email by the end of October 2015.

QUALIFICATION : Applicants should have worked as Producers or Line/Supervising/Executive producers in either one of the following and completed the same: Feature-length film | Short film | Documentary film | Television Commercial | Television Serial. The Lab is open to applicants from across the world but they should be proficient in English.

The highlights of Producer’s Lab 2014:

In 2014, Kirsten Niehuus, Managing Director, Film Funding, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and Isabel Davis, Head of International, British Film Institute discussed the dynamics of public funding in and co-production with Germany and the United Kindgom, respectively. Viola Fugen, Head of Co-Productions at The Match Factory conducted a session on working with international co-producers and brought in her perspective of what an international co-producer looks for in a project creatively. Also present at the Lab was Marco Muller, the Artistic Director of Rome Film Festival who conducted a session on the importance of film festivals and how they can shape the journey of a film.

Another session, focusing on newer modes of engaging audiences through non-conventional platforms, was conducted by Aanchal Bahadur, Youtube Partner-Manager at Google India and Manan Singhi, Head of Music Partnerships, Youtube — India & South Asia. Pratiksha Rao, Head of TV & Entertainment, Twitter was present to speak about newer, more creative ways of reaching audiences through Twitter and the power of storytelling that transcends duration and medium of exhibition.

The 2014 edition of Producers’ Lab also witnessed sessions on film marketing by Rudrarup Datta, Head of Marketing and Operations, Viacom 18 India and on content creation for youth audiences by Ashish Patil, Business and Creative Head, Youth Films, Brand Partnerships, Talent Management, Yash Raj Films.

– For the first time at NFDC Film Bazaar, there will be two WIP Labs: WIP Fiction and first WIP Documentary. In each WIP Lab, four projects in their rough-cut stage will be selected to be presented to a panel of international film experts for their feedback. The newly introduced WIP Documentary will only consider creative feature length documentaries in the rough cut stage which are aimed at a theatrical release.

– Early buzz on Kanu Behl’s Titli : Titli is the most stunning, daring, solid Indian film i have seen this year. Nothing like Indian cinema has seen ever…not a single wrong frame. Too depressing and suffocating at times…but man, this MUST go international. Animal kingdom ka baap hai! And all actors just at their career best roles. (via a friend who saw it). – Kanu Behl’s Titli also won the DI Award for the Best Work-in-Progress Lab Project. The DI Award sponsors the completion of the Digital Intermediate process at Prasad Labs.

– New York-based BGP Film has picked up the North American rights of Gyan Correa’s film The Good Road.

– Abhay Deol will star in the UK-set thriller, Bounty Hunter, to be directed by brothers Sunandan and Yugesh Walia. They will also co-produce the film rough their UK-based production company Endboard Productions.

– Q to make English-language debut with Brahman Naman, to be produced by Steve Barron’s UK-based Riley Productions.  Set in Bangalore in the 1980s, the film is a comedy about a 17-year-old who tops his class but also has whisky addiction, filthy mouth and a porn collection. Q’s Kolkata-based production company Overdose Joint will co-produce.

– France’s ASAP Films to produce Rajesh Jala’s The Spark (Chingari). It was selected for NFDC Screenwriters’ Lab and Co-production Market. The script also won the Incredible India award at Film Bazaar. The Award comes with a cash price of Rs. 1 mn for the best project in the Co-Production Market and is presented by the Ministry of Tourism.

– Ashim Ahluwalia’s film Miss Lovely is set to release in India in January 2014. This will be done through the start-up theatrical distributor Easel Films and Eagle Movies.

– Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment has announced two new films – Amit Kumar’s Give Me Blood and Vasan Bala’s Side Hero.

– Nikhil Mahajan (of Pune 52) has announced his new film Dainik which will star Rajkummar Rao (Yes, RajKumar Yadav is now Rao). DAR Motion Pictures, IME Motion Pictures and Nikhil Mahajan’s Blue Drop Films will co-produce Marathi action adventure Baji, starring Shreyas Talpade.

– Varun Grover’s film Maa Bhagwatiya IIT Coaching will be produced by Nikhil Mahajan. The script was selected for Screenwriters Lab.

– DAR Motion Pictures, IME Motion Pictures will co-produce Nikhil Mahajan’s Marathi Superhero film Baji starring Shreyas Talpade.

– After Qissa, filmmaker Anup Singh is working on adapting UK author Paul Pickering’s novel Over The Rainbow. The film will be produced by Switzerland-based Saskia Vischer Productions.

– Channel 4 has picked up four titles – The Good Road, Sulemani Keeda, Fandry and B.A. Pass.
