It started with Rockstar. We went to see the film and then came out, sat on the stairs of Cinemax, Versova and discussed the film with its director Imtiaz Ali for next three hours. If you haven’t read the post, it’s here. The idea is to create space and platform for discussion with filmmakers after we have seen the film. Pre-release buzz is all fine but we rarely get to hear them post-release.
Last time it was completely informal. This time we are trying to do it in a bit formal way and as always, with the help of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap who will also be there. The film is Paan SIngh Tomar, one of the best reviewed films in recent times. So here are the details…
Film : Paan Singh Tomar
Venue : PVR, Juhu
Date : Today (7th March, Wednesday)
Time : 8pm show. We are hoping it will get over by 10pm and we will have 1hour time for discussion as the next show is at 11pm.
Entry : Since it’s a normal screening and discussion will be inside the auditorium, do book your tickets.
Tickets : Rs 150. You can either get it from the counter or book it at www.pvrcinemas.com
And thanks to PVR Cinemas and Shiladitya Bora for all the help.
See you there!
It’s a great initiative. Kudos to Mr. Kashyap and Mr. Dhulia. And to Mr. Imtiaz too- I read the post on the informal discussion post Rockstar- and it was really insightful and I wish I could have been there.
I would have loved to come today, but its clashing with my college farewell party.
Just a tip
I saw the film on monday evening show at PVR Juhu. It will not end by 10PM if its a 8PM show. The run time of the movie 2hr 20 min- and at PVR they show a lot of adverts generally. It might not end before 10:40 unless they cut the intermission. So be prepared to continue the discussion outside the auditorium.
I suggest walk down to the Silver beach. It’s hardly a 5-10 min walk from PVR. It will be a great setting for a fruitful discussion.
Cheers and have a great time!
I too wish to be there but I leave in city far away from Mumbai. But one day I would be there for such a screening. Long Live Moifightclub !
I’m jealous of u guys .I wish I were there in Mumbai to be part of such joy.Hopefully someone will post a video of the discussion.BTW rockstar discussion reminded me abt 40min version of ‘Kun Faaya Kun’.Somebody should tell IA that there is a chance that the world might not exist after 2012 and I don’t want to die with out listening to it.
