Indiafm.com has published the story details of Amitabh Bachchan & Ben Kingsley starrer Teen Patti. The film is directed by Leena Yadav ( Shabd). If you have missed it, here it is…the basic story of Teen Patti….

Ben Kingsley & Amitabh BachchanPerci Trachtenberg (Ben Kingsley), widely regarded as the world’s greatest living mathematician, meets Venkat Subramaniam (Amitabh Bachchan), a reclusive math genius from India, who has cracked a theory that could redefine the principles of probability and randomness.

Aware that he is on the precipice of an extraordinary discovery, one that could find applications across various sciences, Venkat is encouraged to test his theory in the real world. But what starts out as an experiment between a charismatic young professor and an eccentric older one soon descends into a game neither of them can control.

Convinced that Venkat’s discovery has the originality and significance to change the narrative arc of mathematics, Perci understands that Venkat’s theory, in essence, questions the idea of what is random and what is fated.

A surprising and deeply moving redemption, initiated by Perci, closes this stupendously modern film that is as much about the private equations of honour and chance, as it is about knowledge that can change the world.

Its too much of philosophy for us! Can someone please dissect it for us in simple and straight words. But ya, it sounds interesting for sure! We will be looking forward to it.

20th century Fox has sent a legal notice to B R Films ( Ravi Chopra) on plagiarism charges. For copying their film My Cousin Vinny and remaking it in hindi as Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai.

Ravi Chopra’s story – Since quite some time, Ravi Chopra has been telling everyone that they have officially bought the remake rights of the film My Cousin Vinny.

Real Dope – B R Films didnt buy the rights of My Cousin Vinny. They mailed the producers of the film stating that their film idea is similar to My Cousin Vinny. Everything else is different. Since there is no copyright on idea, 20th Century Fox asked Ravi Chopra to go ahead with his film.

20th Century Fox’s story – Now that the film is almost complete, the studio guys realised that its not only the idea but the film’s story is exactly the same as My Cousin Vinny.  Only few cosmetic changes have been made.

Where it stands – 2oth Century Fox has moved to Bombay High Court against B R Films. It has also sought Rs 7 crore as damages. Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai has Govinda, Tabu and Sushmita Sen in lead.

So, thats the real dope!

arshad1Yes, thats what it looks like.

Kaun Bola is Arshad Warsi’ home production film. In an interview to Hindustan Times, this is what he said when asked about the similarties..

Thats the tragedy of my life. There are seevn people in the world who look alike and seven million people who think alike.

The film’s script is original and I wrote it over a period of time thinking about how I would like a ghost film to be.

One day, a friend comes over and suggests I watch Ghost Town. To my surprise, ther were similarities.

The treatment of the story is similar. My charcater is liek Hwoopie Goldberg’s in Ghost. I can see the spirits around and communicate with them. The stylisation of the movies is alo quite alike. But the story is not the same.

Please, can we have a new excuse ? Circuit’s sense of reason, logic and excuse was never so bad! Where are you, Mr Hirani  ?

its-a-wonderful-after-life1We got our hands on the synopsis of Gurinder Chadha’s new film Its a Wonderful Afterlife. Shabana Azmi plays the lead role in the film and it also features Sally Hawkins.

Yes, believe it or not! Abbas Tyrewala has just finished the 20th ( yeh yeh 20th) draft of his next script 1-800-Love.  After the super duper success of his debut film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, he knows that there is huge expectation from his next film. And so, he doesnt want to take any chance.

The script is written by his wife Pakhi, who also stars in the film opposite John Abraham.

Mumbai Mirror has a story on how Salim Khan helped Abbas fine tune the script. Here is the link

Dibakar Banerjee is going big after Khosla Ka Ghosla and Oye Lucky Lucky Oye.  Two films which we absolutely love. Well, the buzz is that Dibakar got great casting this time. Abhay Deol and Imran Khan. Yes, the new age heroes prefer those directors who have a new story to say and not the Kunal Kohlis of the world. ( Btw, Kunal Kohli has been rejected by every possible actor, whoever he approached for his new film) Talks are on with Katrina Kaif for the female lead.

Dibakar was earlier planning a film based in pre-independence Bengal. Looks like thats not happening soon.

Update on Gadhvi’s next –  Doom director Sanjay Gadhvi has finally managed to convince Imran Khan for his next film.  Here is the real dope – Post Kidnap, Imran wasnt interested in working with Gadhvi anymore. But this doom Gadhvi knows where to pull the strings.  He is quite close to Studio 18 boss Vandana Malik, whose daughter Avantika Malik is Imran’s girlfreind. Now thats not difficult puzzle to solve.  Saansu-Ma ho to aisi ho!
