ranbir imran cutUnlike others, we dont like to shout out from rooftops that we told you so! But we did. About Karan Johar’s new film starring Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. You can check out the post here. Mid-day has got more details about the film.

It seems the film will be on the lines of Hollywood’s High School Musical. Both Imran and Ranbir will play their age and it will be a yuppie romantic story. After My Name Is Khan, Karan wants to direct something light. So back to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai days!

The actresses opposite Imran and Ranbir has not been finalised yet.  Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor are being considered. We will keep you posted.

With the mulitiplex-producers strike over, the publicity and promotions of new releases has started in full swing. Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone is up for release soon. Here are some new pics from the film.

love-aaj-kal new posterFor all you fans of Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met and Socha Na Tha, here is the first trailer of his new film Love Aaj Kal, starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone. And like its first still and first poster, this one also is a damp squib! Ofcourse its not the actual promo of the film but a tie-up promo which has been shot for T20 worldcup on Star Cricket.

Making money is not a bad thing and more so during recession time. But what we dont understand is why would someone fuck around with the first trailer/promo of such a highly anticipated film. And who wrote the promo lines ?

If you missed out Deepika’s dialogue delivery, please check it out again…..You are my Love Aaj Kal. But my love for cricket, kal bhi tha aur hamesh rahega! Eeeeks! We thought that nobody can do it better than Kangana Ranaut, the way she says basterd. But looks like Deepika will soon snatch the crown from Ranaut ! And cricket never sounded so terrible! Imtiaz, are you listening ? Or are we reading (or hearing) too much in 50 seconds ?

love-aaj-kal new posterLove Aaj Kal – as the name suggests, its about the changing philosophy of love. What was it yesterday and how is it today ?

With fast food joints, coffee shops, quick delivery pizzas and nachos, has the love quotient also changed or is it still the same ? Bollywood’s new love guru Imtiaz Ali ponders over it.

The conclusion – well, we all know. Its a happy ending. The style has changed but the experience remains the same. Here is some exclusive info about the film’s synopsis.

Love Aaj Kal is the story of Jai ( Saif Ali Khan) and Meera (Deepika Padukone). It starts at a cafe in London which is run by Vir Singh ( Rishi Kapoor). The duo meet, jump into bed first and then they fall in love. With Jai-Meera’s love story, there is parallel track of Vir Singh, his love story with Harleen, which happens in flashback and is set in Delhi. One is today’s love story and the other is of yesteryears. Saif Ali also plays the younger Vir Singh (Rishi Kapoor). And who is Harleen ? Deepika ? We got no clue. Rahul Khanna also has a cameo in the film.

First came out a really sad still from the film Love Aaj Kal. It was difficult to tell who looked more bored in the pic – Saif Ali Khan or Deepika Padukone. The link to the pic is here. But thank god for small mercies. Now there is more to discuss and dissect. Two posters of the film are out. And these are not as dull as the pic but still, well, have a look.

Our conclusion – It seems Imtiaz Ali has again boarded the train. Its again a travelogue or road movie or whatever you want to call it. Thats what it looks like from the poster. This should complete his road triology with Socha Na Tha and Jab We Met.

The first poster has some character but nothing fresh about it. Second one looks straight out of Salaam Namaste. We know, we are reading too much into the posters. But when Imtiaz is considered as one of the directors to look out for, atleast his film should not have such unispiring posters. Or is it recession at creativity shop too. And when the expectations are so high, you should not fuck around with such shoddy ones. Not even the posters. Imtiaz, can we please have something better ? We are waiting and hoping for better.
