We had no clue about this film. And we don’t know anyone associated with the film. Not even a friend’s friend. Between bouquets and brickbats, we got a mail from a stranger asking us if we can put a post on the film. Low-budget, indie and in black and white. Why not? So, here it is. The poster, trailer and official synopsis of the film. Do post your feedback in the comments section.
Kshay revolves around the personification of an obsession, fueled by nothing more than intangible desires. Chhaya is a simple housewife who has an artistic bent of mind and a seemingly happy life with her husband Arvind. Money trickles in every month and life goes on for an unassuming Chhaya, until her eyes catch hold of an unfinished sculpture of the Hindu Goddess, Lakshmi.
Her values and relationships as she knows them begin to decay day by day, surrendering to the clutches of an ugly obsession that feeds on her weaknesses and past disappointments. She must have the “Lakshmi”, as if to make up for all that she has yearned for in her life.
Kshay takes an unforgiving look at obsession; how it infects the frailty of our minds, corroding reasoning, reality and emotional fulfilment.
The film is written and directed by Karan Gour and has Rasika Dugal (No Smoking, Agyaat, Tahaan, Hijack) and Alekh Sangal (Summer of 2007) in the lead.

The trailer is disturbing.
Alekh Sangal is the same guy who rocked big-time in Ghanta Awards as Akshay Kumar/ Uday Chopra/Vivek Oberoi caricature. Very solid actor. And the film looks interesting…hope it doesn’t stop at psycho-babble and has something interesting to say.
Love the theme. And the trailer looks pretty much intense too. Hope it can just avoid being pretentious or self conscious or pseudo intellectual.
Scary ..disturbing … Want to see all those who watch Alok Nath & Sudha Chandran sell holy idols to see this film 😛
When is the screening/release ?
brings smile on my face. waiting.
Both the synopsis and the trailer seem interesting. Wait clock is reset and it started ticking.
Will see the trailer later – but synopsis seems a bit like Requiem.
I am not sure if it’s the black-and-white intense-bleakness of it that gave me the shivers, but it does look creepy – in a good way. Look forward to seeing it.
its produced by conjure media….by adityavikram gupta….his other production stealing suburbia is showing at the short films corner at cannes 2011…i guess their group of artists collabarating is also called 3rd thoughts production and the film will surely be in david lynch and f kafka category…lookin fwd to watching it.
Very promising. I love the theme.

After a long time, a Hindi film that refuses to compromise, story wise. A very bleak personal worldview here that has to end in complete devastation. Not sure we’ve seen this enough (not just for the sake of it..) in Hindi films of recent…Kshay needs to be watched…
