Yes, Seven fucking crore! For Love Aaj Kal. And we are happy to know and share the info. Because this is one director who made it all by himself. From nobody to saat-lakhiya director as people in Jamshedpur must be calling him.
He was paid only 25 Lakhs or so for Jab We Met, which is hard to believe. But it may be true because Socha Na Tha was a big flop though we don’t know of anyone who doesn’t like it. Some even prefer it more than Jab We Met. But as they say, strange are the ways of life! Learn to live and deal with it.
From the promos and songs of Love Aaj Kal, it looks like win-win situation for Imtiaz again. He is trying to get Hrithik Roshan for his next film. It seems Roshan baba is giving him sleepless nights to him. We will keep you posted on that too.

BTW, someone whose opinion we value, told us today that we are fucking pretentious ( is the spelling correct ? Hmmm…we are not sure). Because our blog is called fight club and we are happy to serve gossip. Its NOT done. Ouch!
Not that it matter much to us but we are thinking about other options now. Because we believe everyone loves gossip. Some just deny it. So our fight club will surely have gossip. We are damn serious!
She has come out in public in support of her husband Shiney Ahuja. On television channels. Anupam Ahuja or Anu Ahuja, even organised a press conference today. She got her freinds and neighbours together and tried to made it look like a false case. The rape of her maid by Shiney Ahuja. She says that Shiney is completely innocent and he has been framed!
But here is the real dope. Direct from the horse’s mouth. We ofcourse can’t name the horse but here is the goss.
Off the record Anupam Ahuja has confessed that she knows the truth. She thinks Shiney is a dumb guy but he is not a rapist. He surely had sex with the maid but it was with her consent. It was consensual. But Anupam Ahuja will not make the confession public because her priority now is to get Shiney out of jail.
Its been a long wait. We know that the film has been ready for quite some time but we are not sure why nobody bothered to release a single trailer/promo/teaser of Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal. Oh yeh, they released one supershitty promotional tie-up video with T20 cup.
Its finally here!! And if the trailer is any indication, then Imtiaz surely has a blockbuster hit in his pocket. After all, who would not go to the theatre when its “From the director of Jab We Met”. We hope its the final one in his trilogy of love-on-the-road films. Thats what it looks like. Imtiaz, give us something new.!

In the film Paa, Amitabh Bachchan suffers from a disease called Progeria, a rare genetic disorder in which a person ages three times faster than a normal person. Its a family drama in which Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan are parents to Amitabh Bachchan, their 13 year old son who looks 39 and its all about how they try to deal with it. The look has been designed after much research and the make up takes almost 4-5 hours everyday. Forget the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, its the Curious Case of Big B now! Woohoo….we are waiting!
First, the not so exclusive news : Kites is 3 hours long! Ok, 2 hours and 50 minutes to be precise! Like us, if the multiplex-distributors’ strike has also made you desperate to step into the theatre to watch any new release (exception – Kal Kisne Dekha doesnt count, even if we get free tickets…we have seen its “kal“) then get ready to be compensated soon, atleast with the duration. Because its three hours of Hrithik Roshan singing, dancing, jumping, kissing and everything possible. After all, its produced by Papa Rakesh Roshan.
And now the exclusive one : Kites scored a Big “zero” at the Cannes Film Festival. But its a gutsy story! The name justifies it all. BIG pictures, big film, big stars, big film festival and a big zero. So Papa Roshan alongwith beta Hrithik Roshan, director Anurag Basu, Barbara Mori and Amit Khanna (Big Pictures) landed up at Cannes to promote the film. Now, why would you go to an international platform like Cannes and make a fool of yourself ? What will they say – From the makers of Krazzy4 ? And how they paid 2cr for plagiarising a song! Dont believe us, take a look at its promo.
Is there anything exciting about it ? (Barbara doesnt count if you think she is hot) Doesnt it look like Dhoom1 meets Dhoom2 ? Hollywood churns out movies with this kind of action almost every year, and nobody keeps the count. So who would get impressed with such a trailer ? They tried hard to sell the film. Met five big international distributors and everyone rejected the film. All five. No interest, no buyer. Cannes result = zero.
BTW, Rakesh Roshan was really hoping for a big international deal because lot of it is in spanish! Ahh…if only someone could tell him that they have seen this kind of stuff ages ago! Its may be first for him, or his beta!

The news was doing the rounds since last few weeks. And it seems to be true. After the success of Slumdog Millionaire, Danny Boyle is all set to head back to Bombay, ok, Mumbai again. Danny has bought the rights of Suketu Mehta’s first book “Maximum City : Bombay Lost and Found”. Though nobody has confirmed the news yet. Its all hush-hush.
Mehta’s book is a non-fiction account of the city, a collage of essays, travelogue and journalistic account. And has real stories of human courage, spirit, dreams and disasters. And there lies the challenge of adapting it for the big screen.
Our guess – Danny’s film will use lot of info and background from the book and it will form the subplots. But the main plot will be something else. And to be on the safe side, he has bought the rights of the book. Much like what Vidhu Vinod Chopra did for Rajkumar Hirani’s Three Idiots. He bought the rights of Chetan Bhagat’s book Five Point Someone, as the film has similar backdrop. But the main plot doesnt have any similarity.
Boyle was in Mumbai recently and the buzz is that he is talking to Aamir Khan for his next.
And if the news is true, we are sure that one man will not be happy at all. Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Why ? Read the book or just google. We are feeling too lazy to get our hands dirty again.

Saeed Akhtar Mirza is back. Almost after a decade! And is ready to roll his new film titled “Ek Tho Chance”. Its a multicast film starring Purab Kohli, Amrita Arora, Rajat Kapoor, Zafar Karachiwala, Vijay Raaz, Pawan Malhotra, Ashwini Kalsekar, Sadia Siddiqui, Saurabh Shukla and Vinay Pathak.
The film is produced by Pritish Nandy Communications (PNC).
If you have any clue about the north indian dialect, its not difficult to guess whats the deal with the “Tho” in the title of the film. Set in Mumbai, the film deals with various stories of migrant population. We are waiting and how!
Btw, if you havent read his recent book Ammi : Letter to a democratic mother, do check it out. Its a compilation of monologues, dialogues ( with his mother) , essays and an interesting read for sure.

The film is directed by John Owen and produced by UTV Spotboy. The shooting of the film is almost complete. Rajiv plays the main lead in the movie and southie actress Lekha Washington is paired with him.
