KAUFMAN - "Or cramming in sex, or car chases, or guns. Or characters learning profound life lessons. Or characters growing or characters changing or characters learning to like each other or characters overcoming obstacles to succeed in the end. Y'know ? Movie shit."
Kaufman is sweating like crazy now. Valerie is quiet for a moment - from "Adaptation".
We are all about CINEMA. That movie shit.
NOTHING is sacred.
NOBODY is spared.
Because we talk about films, dammit.
Not your sex life.

And our national obsession continues! What is she wearing ? why is she wearing what she is wearing! Why so thin ? Why so fat ? Whats the size – zero or one plus zero zero! So, here its all – the possible pics in all the plastic poses – dissect, discuss or do whatever you want to!
Yes, am bored, sick, dead and tired of film references within a film! And its more cringeworthy if the films belong to the same production house! Sample this new one – the great minds at Dharma Productions have gone ahead and made a film thats not only is a film in a film but makes all the WTF filmy references! It stars Imran Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Samir Dattani , directed by debutant Punit Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar. Boy hates Luv Storys (yes, thats how its spelt), Girl loves Luv Storys, they will fall in love! OMG ! What a surprise….kuch ho na ho….main sachmuch nahi samjhoonga!
The first look of Milan Luthria’s film Once Upon A Time In Mumbai is out. Its produced by Ektaa Kapoor and stars Ajay Devgan, Emraan Hashmi, Kangna Ranaut and Prachi Desai. Its based on Mumbai’s underworld of 70′s. Ajay’s character is based on Haji Mastan and Emraan will play Dawood Ibrahim. With benchmarks like Satya & Company, not sure if we need any more 70′s gangster story! But the posters do look impressive!
Yes, we were missing in action. The excuses are many and they are all so silly. Here we are back and with an exclusive! The first look of Vikramaditya Motwane’s debut film Udaan! Plus some more! The film is in the official selection list of Cannes Film Festival (Un Certain Regard Section) 2010. Have a look.
Also, here is the official synopsis of the film….
After being abandoned for eight straight years in boarding school, Rohan returns to the small industrial town of Jamshedpur and finds himself closeted with an authoritarian father and a younger half brother who he didn’t even know existed. Forced to work in his father’s steel factory and study engineering against his wishes, he tries to forge his own life out of his given circumstances and pursue his dream of being a writer.
The film is written by Vikramaditya Motwane & Anurag Kashyap. Its produced by Anurag Kashyap & Sanjay Singh. Strangely, UTV rejected the script twice earlier but came on board as soon as the film got the Cannes stamp! Not surprising that they produced “Chance Pe Dance”! It has music by Amit Trivedi and lyricist is Amitabh Bhattacharya. The main cast includes Rajat Barmecha, Ronit Roy, Aayan Boradia and Ram Kapoor.
I know, I have been going on and on and on about it since I saw the film. But trust me, it deserves all that and more. The film had a limited release in Mumbai and so, those of you who missed it, here’s one more chance. Dont miss it this time and don’t crib later. Details follows.
(BTW, here is the post that I wrote after watching the film. )
Tickets : 75/- for FTII alumni, and 100/- for non-FTII viewers, to cover the projection costs.
According to the official release, the synopsis of Vihir is as follows…
A story of two adolescent boys Sameer and Nachiket (cousins who are best friends) standing on the crossroads of life… to choose between the life that leads to petty worldly small existence or the life of free existence that would let them spread their wings and soar high in open skies…
They play a game of hide and seek in a rather unusual way. Where one cousin hides in death and the other is looking for him in the life around him. . . . Samir’s search leads him towards the experience of oneness where he can unite with Nachiket again!
The cast and the crew of the film will also be there. It includes…
So, the big question is will Superstar Surya save Ramu’s almost dead career or will Ramu manage to kill Surya in his bollywood debut! Though the hindi promo of the film is not out yet but this one surely looks like Satya-meets-Sarkar-meets-Sarkar Raaj! Ramu doesnt even give a new frame to stare at, forget anything else. Anyway, we will continue the bitchfest later on, have a look.
It stars Vivek Oberoi, Surya Sivakumar, Priyamani, Radhika Apte, Shatrughan Sinha , Kota Srinivas Rao and Tanikella Bharani.
Because calling him filmmaker would be disrespect to the medium. So, after his Hey Potty, he is back with HouseFool.

Sorry to flood the blog with so many Raavan posts, but what to do, as they say, its all for Mani Saar. So, here it is. Time to put all the speculations to rest as the official synopsis of Raavan is out on its website. Read on…
Dev Pratap Sharma – The Punisher, The Law, The Righteous (Vikram)
Ragini – Conscience, Beauty, Music (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan)
Dev falls in love with Ragini, a spunky classical dancer who is as unconventional as him. They get married and he takes up his new post in Lal Maati, a small town in northern India.
A town where the word of law is not the police but Beera, a tribal who has, over the years, shifted the power equation of the place from the ruling to the have-nots of the area. Dev knows, that the key to bringing order to any place is to vanquish the big fish; in this case- Beera.
In one stroke Dev manages to rip open Beera’s world, and set in motion a chain of events which will claim lives, change fortunes.
Beera, injured but enraged hits back starting a battle that draws Dev, Beera and Ragini into the jungle. The jungle which is dense, confusing, scary. And in this journey they must comfort their own truth.
A journey which will test their beliefs, convictions and emotions. Emotions, which are as scary and confusing as the forest. The forest becomes the battleground. The battle between good and evil, between Dev, and Beera, between Ram and Raavan.
But when the lines dividing good and evil are blurring fast whose side will you take? When hate turns to love and the good start’ looking evil, which side will you battle for? Love is a battle that nobody wins but everyone must fight. Even this Raavan.
