Is this the bestest friday we have seen in ages ? Seems so. The Baap of every mind-bending game is here! Christopher Nolan, with his Inception. Plus, there is Udaan by Vikramaditya Motwane, Tere Bin Laden and Rahul Dholakia’s Lamhaa. Ok, rest can wait. Back to Inception.

The year was 1997. He was “Chris Nolan” on the credits then. But as they, the signs were all there. Watch it, if you havent seen it yet – the short film by the master before the world discovered him through Following.

We are Nolan-bhakts since we saw Following and he still delivers and how! As we saw his latest release Inception, I flooded the Twitter timeline with orgasmic, or should we call it Nolan-asmic tweets! If you are not on Twitter, here is all our gloating, as friends called it, all in 140 characters……..

I.N.C.E.P.T.I.O.N. See you guys after the dream (Jackass grin) !

Interval – HOLY FUCKETY FUCK! NOBODY, nobody is gonna fuck you like this. Everything is explained slowly but you CANT even blink!

Inception – go with as much expectations as u want! Its a BET! Nolan plants an idea, gives u orgasm, ditches u and gives u hard-on again!

Inception – anyone try writing the spoiler alerts…its gonna be one fat book u cant even imagine. Am not sure what can Nolan do after this.

Inception – did i mention its a love story! Ur mind is d scene of the crime. But ur heart gonna pull the trigger!

Inception – at every scene u r given explanation. Sm call it dialogue exposition. But still, it defies all gravity!

Inception – am willing to sponsor Aamir khan’s ticket. He didn’t understand Memento. I want to see the expression on his face after this one.

Inception -not sure if any1 ever balanced matters of head N heart so perfectly well 2 get u into d trap. Oops, did he beat my God C.Kaufman. J.Grin

# Ok, one last one…after all d Inception tweets how many Nolanbhakts cant sleep 2nite…wanna count 😉 and i will be in a dream! Aha, life!

So, have you booked you tickets ? Don’t forget to book you brains too. Ok, get that over-booked! J. Grin (we just can’t get enough of it). Also, releasing this friday is Udaan. And click here to read our review of Udaan.

PS – Don’t forget to let us know what you felt about it. And what do you think about the last scene/sequence of the film ?

It was D-day yesterday. Not sure what adjective should we use for the man called Guru Dutt. Asked the magician we know, to look into his treasure box and gift us something. So, here it is. ..Kitna rangeen hai ye chaand sitaaron ka samaa….Guru Dutt and Sadhna in an unreleased film called Picnic. It was shelved due to Gurudutt’s death.

BTW, our magician’s name is Pavan Jha and you can follow him on twitter here.

What ? When ? Where ? How much ? And why ?

Its an age-old debate. And things are changing now. In west, the new rule is “Forget the critics, Fear Twitter”! Plus, there are many popular bloggers now whom viewers trust more than many critics because they know that there cant be any hidden agenda there. And may be thats why many publications are in the process of doing away with critics.

Ok, enough of our review gyaan. Since we are putting it as VOTD, do check it out. Taran Adarsh, popularly known as Trash Adarsh for his movie and film reviews, discusses the issue with Minty Tejpal (Mumbai Mirror), Meena Iyer (Mumbai Mirror/TOI) and Rajeev Masand (CNN IBN).

Some candid confessions, some strong opinions, west versus east, do producers/directors try to influence them and why do they write/say, the way they do. And they even discuss Nikhat Kazmi!

(PS – Mumbai Mirror belongs to TOI group)

This one is a must watch. Sunday VOTD! We all know what the Academy loves and hates and the causes they champion. So, here is an easy guide to spot that Academy Award Winning Movie Trailer. Bet, its always like this. Courtesy – Our good friend D’jango!

This is it! It doesnt get bigger than this! The best directors of the year, all together. Quentin Tarantino (Inglourious Basterds), Peter Jackson (The Lovely Bones), James Cameron (Avatar), Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker), Jason Reitman (Up in the Air) and Lee Daniels (Precious) sat down for a roundtable chat to discuss outsider versus insider, toughest scenes they had to film for a movie and what they would do if they weren’t directing movies. Killer!

UPDATE : And there is more! Our good freind Manu mailed us the link that has the same set of directors talking about the challenges of marketing a film, how they became directors, sequels & board games versus originals. Click here and enjoy! Or you can click here for the transcript.

Here are two videos we are playing in non-stop loop these days. First is, what they say, KISS! Keep it simple, stupid. Two characters, one car and a golden oldie. Who needs fancy props or locations for good chemistry, only a song will do. Check it out, the new SBI Life Insurance commercial.

The second one is the promotional video of Raat Gayi Baat Gayi. Quite catchy tune and surely deserves more airtime. Lil late, but we are blushing all over again, watching Iravati Harshe, our crush from DD days.

Like us, if you went to the 3D theatres, saw Avatar and had multiple orgasms at one go, here is something more. The much talked about movie performance capture technique simplified in the first video and the second video is all about James Cameron’s Planet Pandora….where the wild things are! Go play!

This video has been out since last few days. And if you still havent seen it, do watch. Actor Brian Cox teaching “To be or not be” to a two year old. He must be the youngest one to say that line, atleast we havent seen anyone else.

It started with a teaser campaign. Hoardings were put up all over the city announcing the release of a new short film titled Moochwali. Picture of a young girl with moustache was enough for the curiosity quotient. The real deal is out now. Its Fevicol’s new tv commercial. And a new idea – Moochwali. Check it out.

Yes, after much speculations Variety has confirmed it. And to quote Variety, here is the synopsis of the film.

After his right forearm got pinned for nearly five days under a boulder during a climb in Utah in May, 2003, Ralston used a dull knife to amputate the limb. He then scaled a 65-foot sheer wall and hiked out before running into a family that gave him water and food. He was finally rescued by helicopter.

And if the synopsis doesnt excite you, check out the video. The amazing story of mountain climber Aron Ralston, in his own words.
