KAUFMAN - "Or cramming in sex, or car chases, or guns. Or characters learning profound life lessons. Or characters growing or characters changing or characters learning to like each other or characters overcoming obstacles to succeed in the end. Y'know ? Movie shit."
Kaufman is sweating like crazy now. Valerie is quiet for a moment - from "Adaptation".
We are all about CINEMA. That movie shit.
NOTHING is sacred.
NOBODY is spared.
Because we talk about films, dammit.
Not your sex life.

The first look of Vidhu Vinod Chopra Prductions’ Ferrari Ki Sawaari is out. The film stars Sharman Joshi and has been directed by debutant Rajesh Mapuskar.
Though the teaser doesn’t say much but here’s my observation – a) why is the chroma looking so terrible? Why should tackiness be compensation for good content? It was the same with 3 Idiots. b) I may be completely wrong but it seems Boman Irani is playing a demented character again. I am bored of it. Can we give him a normal character to play? If am wrong, apologies in advance. Waiting for the trailer now.
The wait is over. The Baap is here to kick all the ass! It stars Tony Leung and Zhang Ziyi. The Grandmasters is the biopic of Yip Man, the first martial artist to teach Wing Chun, the man who trained Bruce Lee and others. Leung plays Yip Man in the film.
Yes, it’s out. Click on the play button, keep on pausing every millisecond and see if you can see something more.
Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal.
And if you thought it was all blink and miss, then we have made things easier for you. Click on the play button to see a slower version of it – 5 times slower ? Not sure. But slow enough to catch everything that you missed.
The first look of Rohan Sippy’s new film Dum Maaro Dum is out. It stars Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu and Rana Daggubati. Prateik is credited as Special Appearance in the teaser. It’s written by Shridhar Raghavan, shot by Amit Roy and has Pritam’s Music. Check it out.

First, a confession. We were wrong about the news of Delhi Belly. As the director was clueless about the edit and release plan, a crew member had informed us that the film was shelved. Plus, the IMDB page of the film, which had all the details about the actors and the characters, was also deleted. So, we had put out a post stating that the film has been shelved. Apologies for the wrong information. Hopefully will not happen again.
The first look of Delhi Belly is out. It’s a teaser. Check it out…
It’s directed by Abhinay Deo and stars Imran Khan, Vir Das, Kunal roy Kapoor and Shenaz Treasurywala. Though the director has moved on to his next film Game and doesn’t have say in the final edit of the film.
Now the big question is what are they selling ?
Aamir Khan Productions has done blah blah and blah films. And it is endorsed by Amitabh Bachchan. So ? So Delhi Belly is next. Brand Aamir ? Where is Imran ? What is the film about ? Well, may be we have to wait for its theatrical trailer
Madam Mahalingam has been missing in action since some time in Bollywood. Why ? Because she is busy in Hollywood. Or what she believes is Hollywood. She keeps on tweeting every possible pic that she clicks when she meets any lil’ known face in Hollywood. And there is no news of her so called Hollywood debut Hisss yet!
Anyway, the first teaser trailer of her new film Politics Of Love ( or Love, Barack ) is out. Take a look and yawwwwn!
BTW, it seems the only thing she has gained so far is a fake accent. Click here and enjoy!
And if you are still interested, here is the official synopsis of the film….
The world’s hottest election just got much hotter… Politics has never been this sexy… She was swift-boated by sex-tape! – Politics makes strange bedfellows, but never stranger than when, a month before the 2008 U.S. Presidential election, Kyle Franklin, a sexy, savvy, African American conservative falls for his Democrat counterpart, Aretha Gupta, a beautiful, idealistic local Obama volunteer coordinator. Sparks fly, tempers flares, heads turn, and romance blossoms for this mismatched pair of campaigners in the frantic and intoxicating days leading up to Election Day. Can the politics of love conquer all?
Starring Loretta Devine (Crash, Dreamgirls), legendary Oscar nominee Ruby Dee, Brian White (Stomp the Yard, Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad…), Gerry Bednob (40 Yr Old Virgin) and Bollywood star Mallika Sherawat (Hisss, Murder).
Time to leave your brains at home, again! At the rate at which Priyadarshan makes movies, we are thinking of opening a brain deposit counter. Might be a good business idea. What say ?
Anyway, the two maha-duds have come together again. And its called Khatta Meetha, directed by Priyadarshan and stars Akshay Kumar. Is it a remake again ? Don’t care much but if someone knows, do enlighten us. Here is the first teaser trailer of the film.
The wait is over. Here it is. Finally! The first look of one of the most anticipated films of the year. The first look of Mani Ratnam’s Raavan is out. Its just a teaser but enough to get our curiosity quotient high. Click on the play button to watch it.
So, what do you think ? Here is what we felt…
1. Superb music. Will Rahman-Gulzar deliver again ? Seems like…veera ke dus mathe…
2. Mani Ratnam’s heroine again making “wet” entry! Earlier it used to be in films. Check any films of his. Now its the same in teaser.
3. Looks like it has hangover of Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara. Freeze it at 00:26, doesnt he exactly look like Ajay Devgan in Omkara ?
4. But still somehow lives upto the expectations. Great energy, gorgeous set up and perfect sound with the visuals. Ok, thats nough analysis for just 30seconds.
And we are back with CQ. The big question – How will it end ? Will Raavan die ? Will Ram kill Raavan ? Or will be something else. Yeah, we know cinema is not all about how it ends but we are willing to believe it after Ratnam made the corporate film Guru. End does matter!
In the film Abhishek Bachchan plays the lead character (Raavan) who kidnaps Aishwarys Rai (Sita) and falls in love with her. Tamil star Vikram plays the role of Ram in the hindi version and lead role of Raavan in the tamil one . Govinda’s role is inspired by Hanuman, Ravi Kissan plays Abhishek’s aide and Nikhil Dwivedi plays a cop. Here are four options, see which one works…
1. Both Ram & Raavan will die fighting for Sita. Everything is fair in love and war!
2. Raavan will let Sita go. Then Ram will use her to get back at Raavan, put a trap and kill him.
3. Raavan will use Sita, who will fall in love with him, and then they will kill Ram.
4. Raavan will kill Ram. And Sita will kill Raavan. And finally Sita will kill herself.
We know whats the right one. Lets see if you can score! Take a pick. And will Team Ratnam-Rahman-Sivan deliver magic again ? Seems so, atleast from what we are hearing.
The first official teaser trailer of Shah Rukh Khan’s new film My Name Is Khan is out. Its directed by Karan Johar and Kajol is the lead actress. Fox Star Studios has the distribution rights of the film and so the first teaser trailer was aired on Star Network. The theatrical trailer will be out with Avatar.
Its always nice to bump into someone whose work you are familiar with and about whom you have heard some good stories. Met Sukant Panigrahy at Film Bazaar (IFFI Goa) today. Though I had never met him but we had some movie connection too. A box of dvds (from USA) sent to me by a common freind of ours landed up at his place because I was too lazy/busy to collect. And Sukant knew that the second box of dvds sent by the same freind reached my place. Ok, time to barter then.
Sukant started out as a production designer and has worked on some big budget films (Gangajal, Tashan, Chak De India, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom among others. Click here for the IMDB list). He candidly admits that its all bullshit for Bread & butter. His last release which got noticed was Anurag Kashyap’s Dev D. And now he has turned director with a film titled Atlas.
Atlas is the story of a waiter in a beach side bar, who has a fragmented isolated existance. His lonely life is alieviated by an obsession with Laila, a free spirited woman of the night. Satish Kaushik & Helen Jones are in lead roles. With whatever funds he could manage, Sukant has shot some portion of the film and has cut a trailer out of it. He is now looking for a producer who can help him complete the film. Do check out the trailer and if you like it, do spread the word.
