Our friend and super talented Vijesh Rajan is planning a new project and is looking for actors. Read on for more details –

I’m shooting an indie music video soon with a bunch of friends. The band’s name is Your Chin and the song I’m making the video for is called ‘fingerprints and mugshots’. You can hear the song on this link:

And so I am looking for casting options for the same. As of now, we have a poster designed for the effort – which we put on and rollingstone india. I have attached the poster herewith.

The plan is to shoot this by month end – 27th, 28th, 29th September.

About me:

I’m a Mumbai-based Vfx artist and director. Here’s a music video I directed recently for Karsh Kale –

Here’s the opening title for Dewarists season 3 that I had directed –

Here’s some of my Vfx work –

About the video:

The song I’m making this video for is called “fingerprints and mugshots”. The song is available on Your Chin’s SoundCloud.

The story revolves around a despondent man who lives alone and his friend who turns up to cheer him up.

The friend in question is a hybrid animation character, whose reference image I have attached. The character will be created using a hybrid of video footage of an upside-down chin + 2d animation elements for it’s body. This is to play on the name of the band and to lend some humour to it.

As for what an upside down chin looks like, singing lyrics – here’s a test I did sometime last year to understand upside down expressions:

(This is without the animated body, of course.)

The expressions are tricky because when you’re upside down, then you also have to do upside down expressions – a frown becomes a smile and a smirk looks like disappointment. But I’m expecting this to look pretty interesting.

We’re looking for at least 10 early /mid / late 20 somethings for a party sequence in the video.

Apart from crowd sourcing the cast, since this is a completely indie effort, we are also looking for help in terms of monetary contributions. Those interested in helping us in any way can contact us on

A new music video for Indian ocean’s popular song bula raha hai koi is out and it features actor Rajat Barmecha.

After Kaminey, this one got to be the title song of the year…Kurbaaan hua! We have it in non-stop loop! What powerful lines….Poori huyee har arzoo, har dastaan meri…..yeh tum shuru huye jahan…main khatam hua…kurbaan hua! And Vishal Dadlani does a terrific job with this song after he bored us to death with his Aladin nursery rhymes!

The film stars Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi and is directed by Rensil D’Silva. The promotional music video of the film is out. Have a look.

They got money. They even got Big B for Bigg Boss. If rumour mills are to be believed, its for some 100 crore! But where is the Big Idea dude ? A new music video featuring Amitabh Bachchan for the new season of Bigg Boss is out. But what a fuckall video! Its F in capital and bold!

Its easy to spot an  idea there but the execution is of nursery standard! Tacky to say the least. Can someone from Colors enlighten us who shot this video ? Dont follow tv too much but have seen some of the best music montage/videos on Sony TV. Their shows may not get TRP’s but have seen some great work as far as promotional videos are concerned.

Take a look at the video. The song is in Amitabh Bachchan’s voice. Even though that doesnt help much.

Sanjay Dutt LuckBut filmmakers ko mangta hai toh mangta hai! Sanju Baba or Sanjay Dutt. The old haggard actor, the beefy body which has turned into a booby body now is still here. The style n tantrum quotient is still high. Or he likes to believe so. But we dont see that turning into ticket sales. Not sure why the producers and directors still queue up for him. So what was his last hit film ? Hmmm…ahhh…nooooo….leave it!

Coming back to the topic. Check out the three promotional videos featuring Sanjay Dutt. From Soham Shah’s Luck (aazma song), EMI and C KKompany. Tells us whats common in all three videos.

Got it ? Its Sanjay Dutt’s dance steps. The great footwork of Sanjay Dutt is the same in all three videos.

He doesn’t move. Its the chair or the king size sofa! Imagine this. The choregrapher has to choreograph a song with Sanjay Dutt. The poor soul must be trying to figure out how to move the chair/sofa, in which direction to move it, to make Dutt look cool. Since Baba can’t dance, he sits on the chair/sofa, stares into the camera & just poses. The chair/sofa is put on a moving stage and is moved with the overweight Baba on it. And he charges a bomb for this. Plus the tantrums. Sitting and posing on a chair was never so expensive.

To make sure that it doesnt look boring, throw in some foreign extras in skimpy clothes and its done. Enjoy the videos.

Some people are born with all the luck. Otherwise how do you explain the success of Freida Pinto. She didnt have even 10minutes role in Slumdog Millionaire and she walked away with all the jazz.

Here’s a music video which she shot during Slumdog Millionaire and now its getting lot of attention because of her new found fame. Its for canadian singer Dal Hothi’s song I Promise You. Have a look
