Got it! When everyone is raving about the background score of Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, well, its time to know the culprit too. And hopefully we are not wrong! Its Sandeep Shirodkar.
He has done the background music for the film. And one of the theme tracks sounds exactly like Black Strobe’s I m a man. Strangely, it was used in other gangster film, Guy Ritchie’s Rock N Rolla. Too many coincidences! Well, its Bollylalalaland!

Lil late but it surely counts for the archives. So, here it is..a half page advertisement by Red Chillies Entertainment (Shah Rukh Khan ?) in the Shiv Sena mouthpiece Samna, wishing Uddhav Thackeray all the best for his birthday. As they say, in Bollywood there are no permanent friends or foes!
The news came as a big shock. Last week he gave an interview saying how he was preparing to direct a film. Infact, he was in Nainital for the recce of the same film. But seems fate had some other plans. Who would have thought! For all the laughs and for all the magic on silversceen, thanks Mr Baswani. RIP.

Wondering why ? Because the music companies act like goons. They keep all the money, the royalty and even every right, and the band never makes any money from the sale of CDs. Whatever they make, it all comes from their live performances. So, better to use the middle finger for the music goons and reach to the fans directly!
And here is some more info about the track Chand – from the official release…
The first song to be given away is titled ‘Chand’, which means ‘moon’ in Hindi. We made this song for an eponymous short film directed by Anurag Kashyap, which unfortunately never saw the light of day. It’s a beautiful, touching twelve minute film about a young boy called Chand, who resides in a remand home in Mumbai, but lives in a world of his own. Sanjeev Sharma has written the lyrics for this song.
BTW, we have seen Anurag Kashyap’s short film Pramod Bhai 23, which is part of Mumbai Cutting, a collage of 11 short films by some well known directors. Its a heartwarming tale of a juvenile delinquent who is obsessed with the underworld and bollywood, and even quotes Gulzar. The film is yet to see the light of the day though its been ready since quite a while. Till then, enjoy the sound of Chand!
When he speaks, we just listen. He is one of our all time favourite actor and the baap of acting – Naseeruddin Shah. And what a delight – unlike the rest of bollylalaland, he is honest and candid. And qualified too.

And the names are – Naseeruddin Shah, Irrfan Khan, John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Russian actor Alexander Dyachenko, Annu Kapoor and Vivaan Shah (Naseeruddin Shah’s son). We were sure about the other five, but had no clue about Annu Kapoor and the name of the Russian Actor. Hindustan Times finally got the list. Aha, relieved!
And our Twitter Khabri Svetlana Naudiyal passed on some exclusive dope too, though we are not sure about it. It seems Ruskin Bond is also doing a cameo in the film. Wooho! The name is Bond, Ruskin Bond! And here is her tweet..
as told so by his (Ruskin Bond) bookshop owner friend in mussorie.. a shop that Ruskin Bond visits every saturday.. he said that Ruskin Bond didn’t come for last two saturdays since he is busy with Saat Khoon Maaf and that he’s doing a small role too in it.. probably of a father or something.. though i don’t remember any such character in the story..
There is more to her (Svetlana’s) story. She even met Mr Bond after her khabri dope but admits that she was too starstruck to ask him anything. Aha, Svetlana…..Kuch Kuch Hota Hai…hum samajhte hai!
