For us, IIFA is IIFA3 – India International Film Awards of Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan. Looks like other stars also feel the same. And so, many of them are happily giving it a miss. Count the names – No Khans ( Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan or Salman Khan), Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan,  Kareena Kapoor or Ranbir Kapoor….the biggies of bollywood and their excuses are all silly.

We wonder who are attending it then ? People who belong to either of the three categories…

1. Those who are close to Bachchan Family.

2. Those who are jobless, have no films at hand.

3. Freeloaders, who will happily go to hell also if they get a free ticket and a place to stay.

My Name is Khan – Shah Rukh Khan’s new film is being shot at San Francisco these days. The film is directed by Karan Johar and also stars Kajol in it. Here is Shah Rukh Khan’s look in the film and some on location pics. enjoy!

santosh sivanYes, the news is indeed true. Cinematographer Santosh Sivan is back with Mani Ratnam. Earlier Manikandan was shooting Ratnam’s film Raavan, which is almost 60 percent complete. But because of Ratnam’s heart attack, the film’s schedule went haywire. And Manikandan had committed his dates for Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan’s new film.

Without any options, Ratnam called up his old favourite Santosh Sivan. According to gossipmongers, there is more to this story. It wasnt all well between Ratnam and Manikandan. Because of professional reasons ofcourse. And it was good excuse to part aways.

Mumbaimirror has got more specific details about the film’s plot…

Raavan is a modern-day Ramayana, in which an encounter specialist shifts to a small town in northern India after his marriage to a classical dancer Raagini (Aishwarya Rai). The town is run by a tribal goon Beera (played by hubby Abhishek Bachchan). Beera who to avenge the inspector, kidnaps Raagini and  eventually falls for her. So what would Raagini do ? Go back or staywith her kidnapper ?  

srk-chak-deIts still not all well between Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. They just pretend, afterall they are good actors. 

If gossipmongers are to be believed, Shah Rukh Khan will not be attending the forthcoming India International Film Academy (IIFA) Awards, of which Bachchan is the brand ambassador.

Since the last few years, the Wizcraft guys (organisers of IIFA Awards) have been trying their luck to get Shah Rukh Khan attend the awards.  But Shah Rukh has skipped it every year, for some reason or the other. And this year, its the same story.

Afterall, we arent the only one who think IIFA stands for India International Film Awards of Amitabh & Abhishek Bachchan. 

Some quick bollywood updates of the day.

1. Aparna Sen’s long in the making Gulel may roll soon. Ranbir Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar have agreed to do the film. Ranbir came on board through Konkona Sen (Wake Up Sid ) and Farhan through Shabana.

2. Dostana’s sequel is on. And this time there is one more gay couple. Ritesh Deshmukh and Shreyas Talpade have been signed for the same. 

3. Richa Chaddha ( Dolly of Oye Lucky Lucky Oye) has finally got a film. She has signed Yunus Sejawal’s new film alongwith with Kay Kay Menon and Rajpal Yadav.

4. Chandrachur Singh is alive! Yes, the Maachis actor will soon be seen in a film titled Maruti Mera Dost. The film is by Chandrachur’s brother Abhimanyu Singh.

5. Nishikant Kamat is going back to his Julie ( he wrote the film) days. This time its not Julie, but John Abraham who will star in his film. UTV will  produce the film. Nishi earlier directed Dombivili Fast and Mumbai Meri Jaan. 

6. Shekhar Kapoor is still making Paani. And when he is not making it, he is going to be a judge on a reality show. India Got Talent, a new show on colours will have Shekhar Kapoor as one of the three judges. Known for his roving eyes, we are sure Shekhar will look out for some special talent.

7. More and more actors are saying no to Kunal Kapoor. Yes, its confirmed now. Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor also said no to him. Will Aditya Chopra save him finally?

8. Nikhil Advani is back from China and planning any African safari as indicated in the film Chandi Chowk to China.  This time he is not planning any big budget ambitious film. He is soon going to start a film titled Tanu Weds Manu starring  R Madhavana and Shahana Goswami. Update 11/05 – Nikhil Advani is not directing the film. It will be directed by Anand Rai (directed Strangers earlier).

9. More troubles for Ravi Chopra. After the plagiarism controversy came out, Big Picturs has made it clear that its not interested in buying Chopra’s Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai any more. They have even asked him to return the advance money.  The film is a copy of hollywood film My Cousin Vinny and the matter is in court. The complete dope on plagiarism story is here.

10. Roshan Abbas is soon going to make his debut as a director. Shah Rukh
Khan will produce his film. Whether he will star in it or not, its not clear yet.

srk-chak-deShah Rukh Khan is a bitter man these days. And if gossipmongers are to be believed, he is a man who cant digest defeat, onscreen or on field. After the disastrous performance of KKR ( Kolkata Knight Riders) and the daily doses by fakeiplplayer, Shah Rukh Khan is trying to forget it all and move on. Here is the sms that he sent out to KKR team mebers, fultoo Kabir Khan style!

Today’s Bombay Times & HT Cafe has published the sms of Shah Rukh Khan. If you missed it, here it is.

We try… we run… we jump… we fail… we attack… we fall… we rise… we hope… we wish… we go high… we go fast… we go slow… we go low… sports is such a great leveller.

You just can’t wish away your losses. I always believe something good lies within every bad moment… only as yet I can’t see the good, except that these defeats have bonded the whole KKR family closer. Have heard all the criticism about the team with sadness… the bad management… selling the business… removing players… none of which are true. As much as the kids are criticised, I guess a parent can’t dislike them. So I stand here… a bit alone… feeling responsible to all the sponsors for having let them down. I also stand with a huge resolve to set this straight as soon as possible. I also stand by my team feeling for them because I have seen them completely helpless at things going so wrong… only I don’t feel it as strongly as they all feel losing on the field… day after day. I love them even more now than I did before.

We accept our defeats… but accepting defeats does not mean we have lost… it means we accept the truth that we haven’t done our best… or our best is not good enough… it means we have something to look forward to… there is a whole area of this sport that we can conquer if we improve. There is no greater feeling than the fact that we can do better at something. There is something to look forward to… there is a positive desire when we wake up in the morning.

I love to win… but you can only love winning if you hate losing enough. I guess KKR has now reached the stage where we are hating to lose… we are disgusted with losses… and the only way to change is to go out and win. I also believe that all the criticism about us is coming true. It’s right for people to not like our team… it’s also in our hands to change that.

We very seldom get the chance to write our own destinies. The way of Allah is that He takes you down so much for you to realise that within all the losses lies the opportunity to correct them. That is the positive in losing so much. From the bottom the only way out is to look upwards. We can either blame everything else and lie there or blame ourselves and rectify our mistakes… our follies. At the bottom we lose our faith in God… it is made so… because God wants us to lose faith in Him and have faith in yourself. Unless you believe in yourself you can’t even believe in God… because we are His most loved creation. So the way forward is to believe in ourselves… believe in the good we can do for ourselves… believe in getting ourselves out of this rut.

Just believe. I believe therefore I am. I believe therefore we will be… I believe therefore God will be with us… I believe therefore we will be back. Korbo, lorbo, jeetbo.

PS: … and stop dropping the catches… that will help!!

srk-kkrAccoring to this report in Rediff, Shah Rukh Khan has decided to exit Kolkata Knight Riders. Yes, finally! It seems the actor has already started talking to various companies to sell the team that he just bought a year ago for Rs 300 crore. 

Reasons ? Losses. On field and off field.

On field – welll, Kolkata Knight Riders team are at the bottom of the score card. This is what happens when you have too many heads and ego issues in the team. And only one man is responsible for messing it all. Shah Rukh Khan.

Off filed –  Here is the calculation according to Rediff…

Khan is supposed to pay Rs 30 crore per year for the next 10 years. The total annual cost for the team is about Rs 75 crore. 

To settle the dispute between Kolkata Police and the IPL organisers over the cost of security arrangements at Eden Gardens, Red Chillies Entertainment had to agree to pay Rs 75 lakhs as security fees.

Khan had earlier said that KKR was easily the most successful IPL franchise, making a Rs 13 crore profit last year. However, his costs trebled last year owing to interventions from the Kolkata Municipal Corporation and Cricket Association of Bengal.

Red Chillies had to pay Rs 90 lakhs per match and was supposed to earn Rs 3 crore if all stadium tickets were sold at Eden Gardens. Red Chillies had to pay Rs 20 lakhs to the police and municipal tax of Rs 500,000. So its expenses per match would have been over Rs 1 crore. But this figure had trebled.

Last year,  Kolkata Police demanded Rs 2 crore as security fees, against Rs 50 lakhs that the organisers of the IPL offered. Then, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation demanded Rs 25 lakhs from Red Chillies as amusement tax for holding IPL matches at Eden Gardens.

Its much easier for Shah Rukh Khan to make money by dancing at weddings!

According to Juicymausi ( buzz18.com) Shah Rukh Khan is back to Mumbai, not for the vote, but its all about notes! He will be dancing at the wedding of builder Kanti Govani’s nephew. And he has been paid 3 crores for the same. Few more bollywood stars are suppose to perform with him. If not on field, he can make good money off field for sure!

Also, according to Rediff.com, Shah Rukh Khan will NOT return to South Africa anytime soon. He will go back only if his team ( Kolkata Knight Riders) starts winning. Why ? Because its too much sadness all around. And he can’t take it any more. 

Someone needs to tell Shah Rukh and now- Dude, its not Filmfare that you can buy the trophy or put the demand that you will attend it only if you win. Nobody gives a fuck, Mr Shah Rukh Khan. With you or without you, the IPL will go on. 

First he took all the possible wrong decisions and when its time to face the consequences, he is running away. As they say, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going ( back home!).

Finally! After criticising every celeb blogger for doing the job what journalists should be doing, Shah Rukh Khan has finally joined the club. As the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, who have been facing criticism from all quarters, Shah  Rukh Khan has finally decided to make his views public. His blog can be found at www.kkr.in. The first two posts read more like motivational speeches and less of blog! Looks like he is still playing the role of Kabir Khan from Chak De India!

Well we can understand why.  Firstly, the bad performance of the team and add to that, the mayhem created by  fakeiplyplayer who is leaking out every possible detail about the team. Khansaab must be going insane. Too much to handle!
