First a confession – Never was so curious and interested in anyone’s marriage or swayavar. But then no marriage was such a non-stop laughathon ever!

And the result is out. Its Dimpy Ganguly from Calcutta. And they can name the pair as Dimpy & Pimpy! Doesnt he look like one with all those kajal and killer sound effect in his laughter! We can also bet that its this pic of Dimpy which did the wonder! He is Rahul Mahajan after all!

So, who is the unlucky Dimpy Ganguly ? She is  21 year old model from Kolkata, West Bengal. According to official release Dimpy gave up a lead role in a film to participate in the Swayamvar. Aur bolo ? Her real name is Soumasri, which means ‘as beautiful as the moon.’ But her cute dimples have earned her the name Dimpy. But this marriage has its share of controversy too. It seems Dimpy had signed a contract with Maureen Wadia’s Gladrags agency and her participation in the show goes against the contract. Click here to know more.

Time to get scared! Very scared. Because Rahul Mahajan is back on tv. And this time for his Swayamvar. Its Season2 on NDTV Imagine. As soon as the show was announced, we were busy wondering just one thing – Why would someone want to marry Rahul Mahajan ? We still dont have an answer but have one more question that should explain it. Why would anyone want to marry Rakhi Sawant ?

But who knows, may be there are women who just love S&M! Otherwise, why would anyone want to marry a wife-beater and divorcee who is known for substance use! Its just S & M. So, here is the list of 15 lucky (!?) finalists!  Out of 15, three are from Delhi, three fom West Bengal, two each from Maharashtra, UP & Haryana and one participant each from Jammu, Punjab & Gujrat! Wow, so much love from North for this Marathi Manoos! And no entry from South!

Also, fresh goss from Udaipur has started pouring in. Gossipmongers are saying that the woman who won the contest refused to marry Rahul Mahajan. She wanted to win it for some publicity, quick fame and cash in on it. She ran away from the show. So, the producers of the show are busy planning a re-shoot of the final episode of the show! But isnt that obvious. We can already see the sequel in the making…Mujhe Iss Rahul Se Bachao!

We dont follow any of these maha-muqabla or maha-sangram but a good friend mailed us this one and we could not understand the maths. If you cant play the video, here is what the anchor says….

Final round se pahle Shaan ki team thi 81 points par aur Himesh’s Warriors thi 78 points par… THREE points ka difference. 

Shaan’s Strikers ka is round ke baad final score hai 122 points. Himesh ke honge isse kam ya jyada?

Is round me Himesh ko mile hain 43 points. Jiska matlab hai  unka final total hai 123.5 points aur aaj ke winner hain Himesh’s Warriors. WTF!  78+43 = 121 or 123.5 ??

This doesn’t need a Maha Maths but  the show declared Himesh as Winners! Can someone connect the missing link!

Big B’s Big Boss will get over soon and Small B is all set to make his small screen debut. The show is titled Bingo, a reality game show to be aired soon on Colors Channel.

Though not much details is out yet but its confirmed that his freinds from the tinseltown will be part of this game show. The teaser campaign for the show will on air soon and will be promoted as Abhishek’s Aaram Classes. The website is up, check it out.

Yashraj Films is finally making its foray on the small screen. And they are going on air with not one or two but five shows. Four fiction and one reality show. Mahi Way, Rishta.com, Seven, Powder and Lift Kara De.

The four shows covers different genraes and the reality show is the hunt for the biggest fans of the bollywood stars. Shows starts from January 1st, 2010 on Sony TV. And if its Yashraj, do expect some starry dose on these shows too. If we are not wrong, in one of the promos we just spotted their in-house actor turned director Jugal Hansraj. Check it out!

Remember the good old Surbhi days! The ever smiling faces of Renuka Shahane and Siddharth Kak. The one show which made postcards so popular that Postal Department had to introduce high priced competetition postcard for the same. Recently a freind mailed us a link to one of the Surbhi videos and we were smiling all over again!

In Video Of The Day (VOTD), its a feature on Abdul Rahman – the Saptah Ka Kalakaar! There is also a sound bite of H Sridhar, his super talented sound recordist whose recent death was a big loss for Rahman. The video is by team director Suhail Tatari. Our guess is he is the same guy who turned director with Summer of 2007 starring Sikander Kher and Gul Panag. Lets us know if we are wrong. And check out the video. The music of Roja still sounds so fresh…ahh magic!

 

Aamir Khan’s new Tata Sky TVC & its again about his looks!

Aamir KhanIs it intentional because it makes headlines and grabs eyeballs ? Or its all because of the concept! Since last few years Aamir Khan’s tv comercials have been discussed and dissected more for his looks than anything else. Product, brand, acting, shooting – everything takes a backseat. Here is the latest Tata Sky tvc in which Aamir plays a ventriloquist and has a puppet in his hand.

Aamir’s look and character is based on Ramadas Padhye, India’s well know ventriloquist. If you are interested to know more about the tvc, here’s a video on the making of the commercial.

And sometimes it seems like Aamir is obsessed about his looks. In a Tata Innova tv commercial, he appeared in six different looks, enacting six popular characters from his six different films. Rang De Basanti, Ghulam, Dil Chahta Hai, Rangeela, Lagaan and Sarforash. If you havent seen it yet, click the play button.

Aishwarya-AbhishekAishwarya Rai & Abhishek Bachchan have been paired together on the big screen (Guru, Sarkar Raj) but so far no joint endorsement. Now for the first time the couple has come together for Lux soap. The first tv commercial featuring them is out today.

Its conceptualized by JWT Mumbai, shot by Stephen Meads (of London-based production house Short Films) and has music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy. Also the voice sounds like Shankar’s. Not sure. Check it out.

WTF! Nothing impressive! We didnt get whats the big deal is all about!

The rumour is they have been paid Rs 25 crore for the deal. Huh! Our bet, somebody must have heard it wrong. Going by their endorsement fees, it cant be more than Rs 2 & 5 cr for Abhishek & Aishwarya respectively. And here is the video of them talking about the commercial…

Talking of TVC’s, the two commercials which is making us smile these days are of Vodafone Diwali offer and Max New York Life Insurance. One has the killer Dadduji with “meri rai mein” quote and the other has Mummyji with “gande underwear alag rakhna” dialogue. Nothing extraordinary but they get the ordinary life pitch perfect! Two scenes which are very common in Indian middle class families. Click on the video to play.

They got money. They even got Big B for Bigg Boss. If rumour mills are to be believed, its for some 100 crore! But where is the Big Idea dude ? A new music video featuring Amitabh Bachchan for the new season of Bigg Boss is out. But what a fuckall video! Its F in capital and bold!

Its easy to spot an  idea there but the execution is of nursery standard! Tacky to say the least. Can someone from Colors enlighten us who shot this video ? Dont follow tv too much but have seen some of the best music montage/videos on Sony TV. Their shows may not get TRP’s but have seen some great work as far as promotional videos are concerned.

Take a look at the video. The song is in Amitabh Bachchan’s voice. Even though that doesnt help much.

Abhi Ash OprahHe is so funny! She is so fake-y! Together they are so fucking irritating. And those million dollar giggles, at every 20 seconds! Add to that the new accent. And their reaction to the marriage video (at 2:43, 2.50), OMG, they had no clue all these while that it ever happened. People are getting beaten up..ooh la la! This video rates damn high on IQ! Yeah, thats Irritating Quotient.
