We have no sympathy for anyone – Rahul Mahajan or Dimpy Ganguly. They deserve each other. Or how else do you explain the fact that someone participated in a swayamvar to marry Rahul Mahajan. Its Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Weird are the ways of the world!

We told you so! Though we are now bored of repeating it again and again but who doesn’t love some cheap thrills and ego massage. Much before the official announcement, we had put out this exclusive post confirming Dhobi Ghat’s selection for Toronto International Film Festival. The official list is finally out.  We knew that three Indian films have been selected for TIFF. So, one is still missing ? Will it be added later on or we got confused ? Someone please enlighten!

Kiran Rao’s directorial debut Dhobi Ghat will have it world premiere at TIFF in the Special Presentations. And here is the official synopsis of the film…..

In the teeming metropolis of Mumbai, four people separated by class and language are drawn together in compelling relationships. Shai, an affluent investment banker on a sabbatical, strikes up an unusual friendship with Munna, a young and beautiful laundry boy with ambitions of being a Bollywood actor, and has a brief dalliance with Arun, a gifted painter. As they slip away from familiar moorings and drift closer together, the city finds its way into the crevices of their inner worlds.

The other film selected for TIFF2010 is Anurag Kashyap’s That Girl In Yellow Boots starring Kalki Koechlin. The film will have its North American Premiere under Special Presentations. And here is the official synopsis of the film…..

Ruth is searching for her father – a man she hardly knew but cannot forget. Desperation drives her to work without a permit, at a massage parlour, where she gives ‘happy endings’ to unfulfilled men. Torn between several schisms, Mumbai becomes the backdrop for Ruth’s quest as she struggles to find her independence and space even as she is sucked deeper into the labyrinthine politics of the city’s underbelly.

What’s next ? Venice Film Festival – anyone wanna bet ?

BTW, NFDC’s Nina Lath Gupta is on the jury of  67th Venice International Film Festival for “Luigi De Laurentiis” Award for a Debut Film. The jury will be chaired by filmmaker Fatih Akin. Click here to read the full report.

The third one in the pic along with Kate Winslet and Aishwarya Rai is Taiwanese model Chi-ling Lin. The commercial is being shot in Rome and its for Longines Watches DolceVita collection. The buzz in the blogosphere is that its based on the film La Dolce Vita. Hum dekhenge!

Finally! After juggling boyfriends right, left and centre & how, (some we have witnessed too and thats for another day), Manisha Koirala (41) tied the knot with Samrat Dahal. And its back to her roots! Samrat (34) is also from Nepal. But who is this Samrat ? Click here to read more about him and his family. Check out the pics in the slide show. Wishing her all the best!

Blame us for connecting the dots, but are we the only one to spot this strange coincidence –  Manisha Koirala gets married, Arvind Swamy getting divorced after sixteen years of marriage and Mani Ratnam is getting butchered by everyone. Aha, life! The trio who gave us that gorgeous Bombay. Those were the days, the days of raging hormones and then Mani gave us that famous “Bombay run” by Koirala! So, here it is…to good ol’ days…

Also, the way Vidhu Vinod Chopra shot her in 1942 – A Love Story, our heart skipped million beats! Its difficult to imagine what all she could have done with her career and what she did! Now, that deserves a lonnnng post. Till then…kuch na kaho…

Aha, this seems like the perfect pitch for its theatrical release in India. We love it, except the title font and its colour, which looks little bland in the middle of all that chaos. For us, its “days of being wild & pains of growing up” and the poster seems to have captured that.

Trust the bolly starlets to go any distance to get any amount of possible mileage. And trust us to follow all their desperate attempts. Plus the word “nude” is always top on google list. So, here it is all. The nude pics of Sherlyn Chopra, which were posted by herself from her Twitter account. And surprisingly she removed all the pics later on.

This is purely for cheap thrill. Two days back, we posted Aishwarya Rai’s Cannes pics on our blog and suddenly there are two Eiffel towers on the blog stats page.  Is the whole world googling her ? So,  now we are wondering can Mallika Sherwat’s Cannes pics beat those twin towers of Aishwary Rai ? Plus its pure gimmick! The name is Mallika!….ah Mallika…oh Mallika….ouch Mallika! Do we need to say more. Enjoy!

BTW, she is there for the promotion of her latest release Hisss (Not sure how many “S”). But the gimmick seems too thanda by Cannes standard! Even Mathieu Amalric and his co-stars did better on the red carpet!
